Supporting advisors, companies and investors with AI-driven impact management software

Amsterdam, 20 March– Impatec, a new software brand from Impact Institute, helps advisers, companies and investors measure, manage and report their impact on nature and society using artificial intelligence. This enables companies and investors to efficiently improve their impact on society and comply with regulations, such as CSRD and the recently proposed Omnibus package and the VSME standard.

For years, Impact Institute has worked with leading companies and investors, including ABN AMRO, Triodos Bank and Zeeman, to measure, manage and improve impact on climate, biodiversity, poverty and other social and environmental issues. With Impatec, Impact Institute now makes this work more efficient and accessible. Companies and investors use Impatec for various applications, such as reporting their impact to stakeholders through a dashboard, improving their climate footprint or doing efficient (human rights) impact due diligence of their impact investments. One of the outcomes is ABN AMRO Sustainability Impact Fund’s recently published impact report.

Another key application of the software is CSRD reporting. With just a few clicks, users can assess impacts, risks and opportunities across the value chain in line with the CSRD sustainability reporting regulation, the Omnibus proposal and the Voluntary SME Standard (VSME). This provides users with an efficient and affordable way to perform a dual materiality analysis (DMA). Besides companies themselves, sustainability consultants can also use Impatec to help their clients with reporting. The Impatec.com website has a self-assessment tool that clarifies which companies should report exactly what and when under the Omnibus proposal.

One unique feature Impatec offers is the impact model library. This helps users to more quickly assess the social, human, natural and financial impact of companies and investors. It includes, for example, a model on the effects of work on employee well-being. Or a model on the effects of food production on biodiversity. The library contains more than a decade of Impact measurement and valuation models developed by Impact Institute. Users can also develop their own models using an innovative drag-and-drop impact formula builder.

In addition, Impatec enables users to collect data on the social, human, natural and financial impact that companies and investments have on stakeholders. Users can collect data through surveys, workshops and interviews. And it also provides access to the Global Impact Database, which helps users populate data gaps with verified and robust data on the impact of business activities on 24 indicators across 65 sectors and 140 countries. The impact of their value chains and own operations is already given for 3,500 companies, helping investors who want to assess the ESG impact of their investment portfolios.

Co-founder of Impact Institute, Michel Scholte: ‘’Thanks to AI, it will be easier than ever to factor impact information into decisions. As a result, not only will there be more transparency, but there will also be more transformation and ultimately transaction. It’s only a matter of time before companies aim for true profits.’’
