Our story
But how do we do this?
For years, we, as Impact Institute have been helping companies to measure and manage their impact. All quantified, monetised and methodologically sound. Most of this knowledge is now incorporated into our tool in the form of user flows, templates and methodologies.
What does Impatec actually do?
Impatec brings your portfolio and your company impact assessments together in one place. For each company, the AI assistant builds a company profile, finds the main ways the business creates or reduces impact, and sets up the calculations to measure it. You review the results and adjust anything you want.
Can I see how an impact number was calculated?
Yes. Every number in Impatec comes with a calculation tree, a visual breakdown of the formula, the inputs and the data sources behind it. You can change any input or assumption and immediately see how the result changes.
What if a company doesn't have the data?
Impatec includes the Global Impact Database, which provides reliable estimates based on sector and region. You can start with these estimates and replace them with real company data as it comes in. Impatec always shows which figures are estimated and which are reported. Also our AI assistent called Impact Intelligence is here to help you out. It can suggest sources and find data for you.
How do I collect data from portfolio companies?
You choose what suits each company. You can send an Excel template, share an online survey, or invite company contacts to enter their data directly in Impatec.
Can I bring in my existing Excel models?
Yes. You can import calculation models you've built in Excel into Impatec, so your earlier work isn't lost.
How is a company's impact assigned to my fund?
Impatec assigns impact based on your ownership share in each company. If you own 20% of a company, 20% of its impact counts toward your fund.
